Sunday, 15/09/2013... ECO DOLOMITES for alla bike lovers!

Goodbye to the acoustic pollution of motors and gas! On the occasion of ECODOLOMITES on Sunday, the 15. September 2013 around the Sella Group, the motorized vehicles will not have any chance. The four Dolomites passes will exclusively be reserved to the lovers of the two wheels.

The participation is open for everyone and there is no need of any registration!

A week for the family, for those who love the uncontaminated nature of the Val di Fassa, for those who love to walk and run in the pure and sparkling air of the mountains. 6 days for athletes, for those who want to prepare for the autumn marathons in the Dolomites.

The Nordic walking lovers can dedicate themselves to the activity trying the 5 routes of the Val di Fassa Running: in fact, also  the walkers can participate to the race, begining the race 30 minutes before the track race start (at 9.30 a.m.), except for the first day when they will start all together (at 9.30 a.m.).
It’s possible to participate also just to one stage, enrolling up to 30 minutes before the start.
The Val di Fassa Running committee sets up an animator staff to entertain the sons’ contenders during the race (Minimum age: 3 year old).
Meeting point: 30 minutes before the start.

• Monday 24th June, 2nd stage Campitello di Fassa - 10,7 km

• Thursday 27th June, 4th stage Soraga - 14 km
• Friday 28th June, 5th stage Moena - Le Cune (Alpe di Lusia) - 12 km

9.000 cyclists took part to the famous Maratona dles Dolomites that's an international cycling marathon along the Dolomites pass roads (Pordoi, Sella, Gardena and Campolongo). This event has been in the last years a dream for many cyclists.

It is a road bicycling race on three possible routes: Maratona Course (138 km), Middle Course (106 km) and Sellaronda Course (55 km).
The start of the race is in La Villa and the arrival in Corvara (Alta Badia).

On Saturday, 29.06.2013 "Maratona for Kids" a  non competitive race for kids between 6 and 12 years old.

NINA ZILLI, FABRIZIO BOSSO

This year the XIX edition of the “I Suoni delle Dolomiti - The Sounds of the Dolomites”, begins with one of the most interesting voices of the Italian pop Nina Zilli and the jazz trompet Fabrizio Bosso.

How to get to Val Salei:

• from Campitello di Fassa take the cable car to Col Rodella. Go downhill to the Valentini refuge and then go along the path no. 655. Walking time 30 minutes;
• from Canazei, by car, follow the signs to Sella and Pordoi passes. Leave the car near the Lupo Bianco hotel and then continue on foot along the path no. 655. Walking time 45 minutes.

On the day of the concert it is possible to go on an excursion accompanied by the local Alpine Guides. Info and enrolment: Mobile +39 340 1147382, from 9.00 a.m. to Midday and from 4.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m. The tour and the concert of Sounds of the Dolomites are for free.

"The secret of the rainbow lake" is a show for both adults and children.
The story telling will be held in Italian.

How to get to the Gardeccia refuge: to get to Gardeccia you can take the cable car from Vigo di Fassa and then path n. 540 (45 mins.). Otherwise you can take a mini-bus taxi from the parking area of the chair lift Vajolet in Pera di Fassa (against payment).

Entry fee: free.

On Friday 19th July the most powerful skyrunners will challenge themselves to conquer the title of Vertical Kilometer.

A race (starting point in Alba di Canazei at 1.465 mt in order to reach the top of the Crepa Neigra mountain at 2.465 mt) of 2,10 km along the lightning path ("sentiero del fulmine"), with a 1.000 meters difference in height and medium inclinations of 50%.

The race is valid on the 2013 for the European Skyrunning Championships.

Sunday 21st July the "skyrunners" will be the protagonists of the 16th Dolomites Skyrace, the so much awaited mountain running competition.

The race is part of the Italian Skyrunning Circuit and it will be valid on the 2013 for the Skyrunning European Championships.

This spectacular route with a 22 km length and which from Canazei reaches the Piz Boè at 3.152 mt (at the feet of the most impressive Dolomite peaks, passing through woods, steep and craggy tracks and a 1.702 mt difference in height), has been covered in the past seasons in just 2 hours.

Radio-controlled model airplanes international meeting

Every year, in the Val di Fassa, on Pordoi Pass during the last weekend of July, the traditional appointment with Radio Control Soaring is renewed. Professionals and amateurs of this discipline convene on the Pordoi Pass at the "Col del Cuc", to compete with their radio-controlled aircraft in a spectacular airshow, helped only by the force of nature: the wind.

Euromeeting Val di Fassa is a competition open only to radio-controlled gliders and electric powered motor gliders, and has become a tradition among modellers all over all the world.

2,3,4 August 2013 - Val S. Nicolò a Pozza di Fassa

The “Fest ta mont” wants to bring us, to dive in every possible meaning of the the Ladin culture: food, music, dances end all the tales and legends which live in the “Dolomia” rocks.

We will find through the route mythological symbols and traditional characters that will make us feeling in a magical atmosphere, all this will surround a theatre representation in Ladin language.

There will be around plenty of possibility to taste the traditional food, listening to traditional music or see traditional dances.

A three-days festival in Canazei where ancient tradition labours and traditions are brought back to life hosted in the "tobiè", the Ladin houses and haylofts, exceptionally open on this occasion to visitors.

And entertainment with folk music and tastings of the special dishes of the traditional Ladin cuisine. Flavours, tastes, music and dances, which are part of local life and whose spirit can be grasped during these days by the guests of Val di Fassa. Discover the habits and customs of this, on of hte most unusual area in the Alps.

The Sounds of the Dolomites also presents Dawn in the Dolomites, almost a festival within a festival, an event of words and music performed in the dreamlike atmosphere of the birth of a new day.

The Sounds of the Dolomites: special project "Dawn in the Dolomites" with Ezio Bosso and Italian Cello Consort. Col Margherita (San Pellegrino Pass-Moena), at 6.00 a.m.

How to get to Col Margherita: from San Pellegrino Pass on the Col Margherita cable car and then on foot. Walking time 30 minutes.

Gourmet soirée in cooperation with Strade del Vino e dei Sapori del Trentino in Ciampedìe, the scenic terrace at 2.000 m surrounded by the Catinaccio-Rosengarten (UNESCO World Heritage), the mountain range that towers over the village of Vigo di Fassa.

On this occasion you are invited to discover the enchanted atmosphere of the rose garden at sunset, mentioned in the famous legend of King Laurin.

As in the fairy tale, the banquet will be held here and prepared with the best ingredients that can be found in our territory, accompanied by the warm hospitality of the refuge owners in the Ciampedìe area and by pleasant music entertainment.

How to get to the Vajolet refuge:

• take the mini-bus taxi (against payment; the service runs from 3.00 a.m. to 5.00 a.m.) from the parking area of the chair lift Vajolet in Pera di Fassa. From Gardeccia go along the wide dirt road marked path no. 546, head for the Vajolet valley and the rocks known as the Porte Neigre. You will soon reach the Preuss and Vajolet refuges at 2.243 m. Walking time 1.00 hour;
• take the cable car (against payment; open from 3.30 a.m.) from Vigo di Fassa to Ciampedìe and then on foot. Walking time 2 hours.

The "Turkish" parade, tradition and handicraft inside the typical haylofts called "tabià", folk music and typical food are the true protagonists of the feast that will take place from Friday, 9th August to Sunday, 11th August in Moena, in the so called "Turchia" district.

According to the legend, after the Vienna defeat, a Turkish soldier escaped from enemy prison and reached Moena, where he found refuge. He loved the village so much that he decided to settle down there. The district where he lived in was named "Turchia" - Turkey after him.

This picturesque district, with its ancient houses painted with frescos, is full of history and tradition.

Its symbol is the head of a Turk wearing a turban carved on a fountain, while its flag reproduces a crescent moon.

18.08: a cultural and gastronomy path

The green Fuciade hollow with its barns and view on the Marmolada Group is definitely worth a visit and can be easily reached with a 40 minute walk from Passo San Pellegrino.

Once to the top, you’ll find the gastronomy festival "A pè ta Mont", an event that will make you discover old tastes and traditions.

At 11.00 a.m. a demonstration of scything, making of alpine herb butter and weaving of baskets will take place.

Barns and huts will turn into inns and from 10.00 a.m. on, old traditional breakfast with "bracel e cafè de orc" (sweet wheat bread and barley coffee) and then a tasty lunch with cold meats, cheeses, wines and grappa will be served.

To reach Fuciade (in the picture) you can join a free organised excursion with the mountain guides: meeting point is in front of the little church in Passo San Pellegrino at 9.30 a.m. A free shuttle bus service from the Col Margherita cable car station will also be available.
